TRANSITIONAL GOING OUT LOOKS THAT WILL KEEP YOU WARM & REMEMBERED

Whether your going out on the town, to dinner with the boyfriend, or a besties bday party, my motto is always dress to impress. I know everyone’s heard this expression before, but it really is what I live by… unless I’m making a quick run to Trader Joe’s or something lol. Never the less, this can be difficult for many girls to achieve especially during the winter when we’re just trying to stay warm. I know it’s much easier to be “sexy” in the summer when you can wear cute strappy tanks am I right? In addition to that, probably one of the biggest trends for 2019 are looks that transition, also a biggy during 2018. People are now taking less effort to change looks from work to night, and want to be more comfortable and functional, all while still looking chic, cause lest face we’re all a little bit lazy like this. This is something I definitely keep in mind when I know I’m grabbing a drink with the girls after work, but still functional and appropriate enough for work right?! In this blog post I’ll give ya’ll just a few ideas how to do this during the winter, while keeping it cool!

So how is this done? Surprisingly, despite what you may think, being covered up can be sexy, and I’m 23 years old so when I say that you know I believe it. Many times, it can be as easy as adding a statement jacket, changing shoes, taking off that under shirt or panty hose haha, but many of times, absolutely nothing is required at all. In these next few looks you’ll see examples of how I keep it classy, but will most certainly get noticed when I want to!

The first look is a statement double breasted blazer, you can see why this look is put in this category, it’s a complete show stopper! This sequin jacket is from Topshop and is so hott, which I’ve linked bellow! Clearly it’s more of a night out look but it could work during the day or for a transitional piece if it had too. I have it here with faux leather leggings and heels. For during the day you could simply swap the heels for booties and put a colored turtleneck or tee underneath and DONE! Ladies, it really is that simply.

The second look is actually perfect for both work and night. The chunky, over sized turtleneck from H&M is so cute and appropriate for day, while the pink midi skirt is also extremely conservative and comfortable. But the color alone will keep the attention on you, it quite beautiful in the light, it sometimes appears red and in other lighting looks pink! I paired it with cowboy booties, but for a night you could ditch the tights and add stilettos if needed, honestly I’d go out just as is though (but I’m more conservative). I got the skirt from Zara but linked bellow is basically the same thing from Showpo! :)

The third and last look is my Hannah Montana look, this is perfect for going out. It may be a tad risky for work but you could always place a chunky sweater over the top of this and swap the shoes for comfy booties and your set for a much more subtle look, they’ll simply think the dress is a fun skirt. Overall, this look defines me, it’s so chic and so fun, if pink metallic sequins don’t catch eyes in the club then I’m not sure what will? So if your not an attention seeker like myself than I’d stray away from this look. For fun I paired a contrasting shear turtleneck underneath, mixing prints is my fav, but for the less bold, a solid shirt would work just as nice! :)
